The Bird Path Zen Community of Davis is a spiritual organization that meets for meditation weekly and informally for study groups and social events. The style of practice is patterned after that of the Diamond Sangha in Hawai'i and one of its affiliates, the Ring of Bone Zendo located near Nevada City. This style of Zen Buddhist practice has its roots in both the Rinzai and Soto schools. Although this describes the group's primary affinities, the doors are open to all.

Meetings

Zen Meditation and Practice

Our weekly sitting (zazen) is one way we support our daily practice. We meet once a week on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Those who have little or no experience in seated meditation are encouraged to phone prior to the first visit so that we can arrange to provide a brief introduction. Longer orientation sessions may occur throughout the year.

Tuesday: 6:30PM-8:30PM.

For directions, call Eric at (530) 400-0561 or email at ewlarsen@ucdavis.edu or e-mail Mark at mngrote@ucdavis.edu
