ASUCD Pantry

The ASUCD Pantry is an ASUCD (Associated Students of The University of California, Davis) that exists to combat food insecurity on campus. It initially launched in 2011 under a point system with a small budget to help students in need. As the years have passed The Pantry now serves over 100+ students, faculty, and UC Davis affiliates daily. With multiple food deliveries weekly to ensure fresh food is served to whoever is interested. The Pantry also takes food, health and wellness donations that are all inspected by staff before being put out to ensure safety. The Pantry's goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive community for all UC Davis affiliates who might be interested! This means that no questions are asked about your financial status, you simply have to type or swipe your ID card/number and you're free to take what you'd like as long as you respect item limits. The Pantry wants to make sure not only that no student goes hungry but also that all student needs are met, and have incorporated toothbrushes, toothpastes, menstrual products, and general hygiene and wellness products to all patrons.

The Pantry is compromised of a staff of 31 paid staff, and nearly 300 volunteers that keep The Pantry going.
