It is one of four stations in Ann Arbor owned by national radio conglomerate Cumulus Media, Inc. The others are WWWW (country, 102.9 FM), WLBY (talk, 1290 AM) and WTKA (sports, 1050 AM).

For most people it would be hard to stat positive after being fired to save money. Not Mark Copeland. The radio vet lost his job Friday, yet has nothing but positive things to say about his former station and company. After 6 and a half years at WQKL, 23 year radio vet Mark Copeland is out. He tells Radio Ink the reason he was given by the Cumulus owned station was downsizing. Copeland says there are no hard feelings. He understands business is business.

As reported in the Ann Arbor News, Cumulus radio station 107.1 WQKL laid off local radio personality Martin Bandyke as of Friday afternoon. News Director Brian Larsen was also let go.
