Behind the scenes: Kyle Poplin, the editor, was a 2009-10 Knight Wallace fellow at the University of Michigan, specifically studying online communities and journalism entrepreneurs. He helped start an award-winning daily newspaper, Bluffton Today, in 2005. The head of the Knight Wallace program, Charles Eisendrath, is serving as an adviser to The Ann.
