I am Moises Park. I was a PhD student in Spanish Literature at UC Davis. My parents are Korean but I grew up in Chile (and Brazil (and Bolivia)). I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Spanish Literature major and a Bio minor. I did my pre-med in Michigan but decided to pursue a PhD in Spanish Literature and an emphasis Critical Theory at UC Davis. I study contemporary Southern Cone literature and post-authoritarian cultures, Critical Theory and a focus on films and cultural studies. I have taught Spanish language and literature (SPA 1,2,3,21,23,24,100,151etc) at UC Davis for 6+ years and ASA for a year. I currently work as a professor at Gordon College in Wenham, MA.
Some of my favorite films are Mulholland Drive, El espiritu de la colmena and Machuca, and many others... Some of my favorite books are The Catcher in the Rye, Mala onda, Los rios profundos, 1984, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, among many others... Some of my favorite bands are Queen, Nirvana, The Mars Volta, Los Tres, and many many others...
"shiwalogo" = Chilean colloquial way of saying "what's going on, dude", "what's up, man". Today, nobody says this but me (and maybe another friend).
